U.s. air attacks on Libya Kills 2 Serbian Embassy staff

At least 43 people were killed in the air attacks launched against the United States training camp of ISIS in Libya. Two Serbian Embassy staff kidnapped in Libya last year were among the fatalities.

The Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic says both the Embassy staff was kidnapped on November 8th, 2015 after a diplomatic vehicle convoy they were fired upon by armed men near the town of Sabratha. The two were identified as Dejan Stankovic, Sladjana a staff communications and Jovica Stepic, the driver of the Embassy.

"We are waiting for the identification of the victims, so we are not yet able to confirm officially the information (the second death of staff)," Dacic said at a press conference in Belgrade, as reported by the Reuters news agency, Friday (20/2/2016).

U.S. fighters stormed the ISIS training camp in the city of Sabratha, Libya on Friday (19/2) local time. This was the second time U.S. air attacks launched against ISIS in Libya in the last three months.

The training camps linked to Noureddine Chouchane, Tunisia residents accused authorities of Tunisia was involved in the attacks at the museum and the beach resort of Sousse in Tunisia. Dozens of tourists were killed died in attacks by 2015. Chouchane was believed to be among those killed in the U.S. attacks.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest says, these air attacks demonstrate the willingness of the U.S. to combat the ISIS. "This is an indication that the President will not hesitate to take harsh action, firmly like this," demolished Earnest.
